Artemis Place is an independent, integrated life skills and educational program which provides a unique alternative to traditional school for girls in our community who are overlooked by existing programs. Our students are girls at risk, often facing multiple barriers including poverty, violence, substance abuse, lack of family support and learning challenges. "Cool Cues" Social Skills Program
Cool Cues is a social skills building group for 8-10 year olds. The program will run for 6 sessions on Mondays after school from 3:30-4:45 PM at James Bay Community Project. Next session will begin in the summer. Call for more details. Topics include: making and keeping friends, bullying, building self-confidence, how to read social cues, and appropriate behaviour - explored through games, art, and crafts, group activities. Learning a second language can be challenging at any age. Oxford Learning is the only supplemental educator to develop a specialized curriculum of French for kids as well as young adults. Extensive research and testing went into the development of this proprietary course, based on the International Standard of French. This program is a perfect supplement to French Immersion students, as preparation for late immersion entries or to enrich students attending English school with French studies.... more...
