More than a thrift store, SVDP Victoria provides emergency food and shelter, as well as education and employment support for low-income individuals and families in Victoria. Under the patronage of Saint Vincent de Paul, it draws its inspiration from his thoughts and his works. Members strive, in a spirit of justice, charity, mutual help, and solidarity with the poor, and by personal commitment, to ease the hardships of those who suffer.

Children's Capoeira
Capoeira weaves together intricate physical dialogue of movements combined with aspects of dance, acrobatics, music and self defense. Capoeira transcends the barriers of age, gender and ethnic background and creates a strong sense of community. It develops discipline, self confidence, and helps open ones mind to another culture giving a deeper world wide perspective.

We provide transitional, semi-independent, housing for youth on Vancouver Island. We run a house for 4 girls (Holly House) and a house for 4 boys (Mitchell House). Residents agree to attend weekly house meetings, complete one chore per week, meet monthly with the house supervisor, and attend a regular day-program (school, work, &/or training). LifeCycles Urban Agriculture program provides support and resources to local organizations and individuals who would like to create organic food gardens in their community, including backyards and community allotment gardens. Volunteers are trained in garden skills and building and support the creation of new gardens! The program also provides workshops on skills related to food and urban agriculture.
